Today was a special day...
Hubs and I and Adam attended Brooklyn's Blood Drive. Not only were we able to donate in honor of sweet angel Brookyn, but we also finally got to meet Kelly and Andy's little redhead (and Brooklyn's Sister) Aubrey! She and Adam got to play while we were getting stuck with needles, and as far as I can tell...no ass biting took place while we were gone.
I have to say - their family's story is very close to my heart...I get quite emotional about the whole thing. I think it has alot to do with the fact that I was pregnant as everything was going on. I remember reading all their updates and ferociously rubbing my belly hoping everything was okay with my own little one because I simply could not imagine dealing with everything they went through. They are a family of incredible strength and spirit, and I feel like a better person for knowing them...and especially for being a small part of today.
We snapped some pics of the kids playing (kelly, I hope you don't mind that I post these)
They had a lovely table set up in Brooklyn's honorI'm sooooooo very glad that we could be there - there simply are no words.

Super cute!!! It is 20 degrees windchill here so the kids look all nice and warm in their non-bundled up clothes! I can't imagine what your friends have gone through.
Man-I'm bummed with missed you guys......Maybe next time. Adam is adorable :)
I have to tell you that as soon as the pictures showed up Aubrey started giggling and waving at the screen. Apparently, she's got a new boyfriend. You're right, no ass biting took place... but Aubrey did have drool soaked pants... Adam was trying to kiss her, apparently. =)
I truly appreciate you guys coming out and your very nice post. It was so nice to see you guys and to meet the little chunky monkey! Damn, he's a cute little boy! I think the kids had just as much fun as the adults did.
Your hubs handy work made me smile. =) Is that sharpie?? I guess he plans on explaining his activities of the weekend at work tomorrow. But, the needle prick and the permanent marker was well worth it. Thank you for being apart of our 46 donors. I feel so blessed to have friends like you guys!
wow that is so awesome... i know that story was very close to your heart so i bet that meant a lot being out there!
those 2 babies are SOOO cute :) we went to dinner with jake the other night and he couldnt stop staring at the little girl at the next table. its like kids have this magic connection :)
Wow. What a wonderful day--how many donors did they get, do you know?
